The Site Package Challenge – Connecting Students and Agencies

To promote young talent in the TYPO3 ecosystem and offer TYPO3 agencies a chance to position themselves as attractive employers, we’re excited to introduce a brand-new format for TYPO3Camp Vienna 2025: the Site Package Challenge, developed in collaboration with SkillDisplay.

What It's All About

The Site Package Challenge aims to inspire students from HTL Rennweg (ages 17–19) to take part in the TYPO3Camp, experience the TYPO3 community firsthand, and connect directly with digital agencies. Under the mentorship of experienced TYPO3 professionals, student teams will spend a full day building and presenting their own TYPO3 site packages.

The initiative doesn't stop there—our goal is to expand the program to other technical schools (HTLs) in Vienna next year.

How It Works

On Saturday, May 10th, 2025, during TYPO3Camp Vienna at the University of Vienna, participating students will:

Work in small groups to create a functional TYPO3 site package

Be guided through structured learning blocks (Docker setup, template customization, TypoScript, custom content elements)

Use the TYPO3Camp Vienna Universe app powered by SkillDisplay to access learning resources, track progress, and connect with mentors from the community

Receive feedback, support, and final validation from their assigned agency mentor

At the end of the day, teams will be recognized with certificates, camp goodies, and visible proof of the skills they’ve gained—both in the app and through real-world experience.
